NSPCC Speak out, Stay safe
Posted: 7th January 2026Recently, our whole school took part in the NSPCC Speak Out, Stay Safe assemblies. These assemblies are designed to help children understand what abuse is, in a way that is age-appropriate and reassuring. Pupils learned that abuse is never their fault, that they have the right to feel safe, and that it is always okay to speak out if they are worried about themselves or someone else. The sessions also highlighted trusted adults and introduced Childline as a safe place to turn for help.
Two weeks later, we were delighted to welcome back two wonderful NSPCC volunteers, who delivered follow-up workshops to pupils in Years 2, 5 and 6. These interactive workshops gave children the opportunity to explore the themes from the assemblies in more depth, ask questions, and practise speaking up and seeking support in different situations.
One enthusiastic Year 6 pupil stated that the workshop was, "so much fun and I will always remember the Childline number."
We are very grateful to the NSPCC volunteers for their time and dedication, and we are proud of how thoughtfully and maturely our pupils engaged with these important sessions.
