Performing Arts (Drama, Music and Dance)
Drama and performance is taught as a performance module in each year group.
Performance modules also include dance and music elements.
Studied over a half-term, pupils are required to perform to their parents at the end of their module.
Why is the teaching of performing arts important for our pupils?
Performing Arts allow our pupils to develop creative passions, they simultaneously will teach children language and communication skills, helping them to communicate effectively and confidently with others.
Pupils have the chance to work in collaboration with their peers and experience the sense of achievement that comes with perfoming live to an audience.
What is taught?
Each year group will practise and perform the following:
Nursery, Reception and Year 1 - Whoops-a-daisy Angel: A musical Christmas Nativity
Year 2 - Mermaids vs. Pirates
Year 3 - Ye-Ha!: The Wildest Musical in the West
Year 4 - Alice in Wonderland: The Musical
Year 5 - Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies
Year 6 - What's the Crime, Mr Wolf?
