Hello and Welcome to Pixie Class!
For enquires regarding places, please email us on nurseryadmin@bmatcooksspinney.org.uk or call 01279 437590 for more information.
Our sessions are as follows:
AM: 8:30-11:30
PM: 12:30-3:30
We are very excited to welcome all of our new starters to Pixie class!
Our first half term focuses heavily on settling in and getting to know each other. We have many exciting things planned, beginning with our topic of ‘Getting to know me.’ We will be learning all about each other, looking at what makes us different, exploring our emotions and learning about our families. As we move on through the term, our topics focus on Colours and Celebrations! We will also be planning activities based around the children’s interests.
Library Books
Once a week your child will have the opportunity to select a library book to take home and read. These books will be changed every Friday.
Clothing
Please ensure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather. Nursery use the outdoor area in all weathers, therefore please ensure your child has a waterproof coat. We have welly boots available for the children to wear in the wet weather.
Please ensure that your child has a spare change of clothes at nursery, including underwear and socks. All items of clothing should be named.
P.E
Nursery children do not participate in P.E lessons until the Summer term. Therefore, your child does not need a P.E just yet.
Tapestry
At Cooks Spinney we use an online learning journal called Tapestry, through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). On it, we record observations, comments and photos to show your child’s progress throughout their time in our EYFS, this complements the other forms of observing and assessing that take place.
With Tapestry, you are able to access your child’s learning journal from a computer or mobile device at any time. Email notifications are sent out to inform you when new observations have been added. This will allow you to keep up to date with your child’s progress, and see what they are doing at school. We also encourage you to share evidence from home to contribute to your child’s journal.
You can view your child’s learning journal via https://tapestryjournal.com or by downloading the ‘Tapestry’ App on mobile devices.
If you have any questions, please come and speak to a member of the Nursery team.
