Our sessions are as followed:
AM: 8:30-11:30
PM: 12:30-3:30
This half term we have many fun and exciting learning opportunities for your child. Our theme is ‘Fantasy’ and we will be exploring many different books and activities including dinosaurs, pirates, superheroes and much more! We also be learning about Easter and spring.
On Thursday 4th March we will be taking part in World Book Day- your child is invited to dress up as a character from their favourite book.
Library Books
Once a week your child will have the opportunity to select a library book to take home and read. These books will be collected every Tuesday and a new book given every Friday.
Clothing
Please ensure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather. Nursery use the outdoor area in all weathers, therefore please ensure your child has a waterproof coat. We have welly boots available for the children to wear in the wet weather.
Please ensure that your child has a spare change of clothes at nursery, including underwear and socks. All items of clothing should be named.
P.E
Starting from the summer term we will be taking part in P.E lessons with Miss Jordan and Mr Kirk. Our sessions will be as followed:
AM Nursery- Every Thursday
PM Nursery- Every Tuesday
Sessions will begin the week beginning Monday 12th April and we ask that your child comes into school wearing their P.E kit on these days.
Tapestry
At Cooks Spinney we use an online learning journal called Tapestry, through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). On it, we record observations, comments and photos to show your child’s progress throughout their time in our EYFS, this complements the other forms of observing and assessing that take place.
With Tapestry, you are able to access your child’s learning journal from a computer or mobile device at any time. Email notifications are sent out to inform you when new observations have been added. This will allow you to keep up to date with your child’s progress, and see what they are doing at school. We also encourage you to share evidence from home to contribute to your child’s journal.
You can view your child’s learning journal via https://tapestryjournal.com or by downloading the ‘Tapestry’ App on mobile devices.
If you have any questions, please come and speak to a member of the nursery team.
