Year 3 - Ducks and Otters

Autumn Term 2020

Welcome back Parents and Carers. We hope you had an enjoyable summer break and are ready for a great school year. We are really looking forward to welcoming the children back after such a long time away.

This term Year 3 will be working on the following:

English

This term our class novels are “The Iron Man” by Ted Hughes and “Traditional Tales” by various authors.

Reading

Please listen to and encourage your child to read at home. It is helpful to discuss the content of the books with your child, to develop their comprehension skills and understanding.

Maths

This term our focus is place value, multiplication, division, subtraction, and addition.

Homework

Homework will be set each Friday. This homework will need to be completed by the following Friday. The homework will be based around the work that the children have undertaken during that particular week in school. This enables us to consolidate their learning and address any misconceptions.

Science- Our topics this term are ‘Light’ and ‘Animals Including Humans.’

Geography – Our topic is World Explorers

RE- Our topic is Islam

PE will be as follows:

Ducks- Monday and Wednesday,

Otters- Monday and Wednesday

We are looking forward to a great year working with you and your child.

Thank you for your support.

The Year 3 Team
