Year 3 - Ducks and Otters
Summer Term 2021
We are really looking forward to welcoming back Year 3 to a great summer term.
We will be starting off the term with continuing our work on Fractions. We will be looking at equivalent fractions as well as adding and subtracting fractions.
We are then moving on to Time. This will include O’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, using a.m. and p.m. and counting in 5 minute intervals.
This half term we will be reading Beowulf by Rob Lloyd Jones. This story encourages the children to explore heroes and villains, bravery and loyalty.
Geography - Africa
Year 3 are going to explore Africa, including:
- 54 countries included in Africa
- The Congo rainforest
- Sahara desert
- Surrounding oceans
Science - Plants
The children will be able to:
- Identify the different parts of flowering plants
- Predict what will happen in an investigation
- Make observations
- Identify the main stages of the life cycle of flowering plants
Music – Bringing us together by Joanna Mangona and Pete Readman
This is a Disco song about friendship, peace, hope and unity.
Year 3 will be looking at mouse skills, creating word documents, PowerPoints and posters
