Year 3 - Willow and Pine

Autumn Term 1, 2026

Welcome back! We hope you are looking forward to the year ahead as much as we are. 

This page is designed to provide you with the information needed to make the year as successful as possible. 

In English, this half term we are reading Traditional Tales (The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson, Rumpelstiltskin by Brothers Grimm, Selfish Giant – Oscar Wild). 

In Maths, we are starting with Place Value before moving on to Addition and Subtraction.

In Science, we are learning about Light.

In Geography, we are learning about Settlements.

In RE, we are learning about the What makes us human?

In History, this half term will be learning about Chronology: The Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.

In Computing, we are learning about the Computer Systems & Networks: Connecting Computers.

Music will be focused around the song Let Your Spirit Fly.

In Art we are looking at the artist Anish Kapoor, who is best known for creating large scale public sculptures. 

In PSHE we will be learning about Me, my friends and belonging.

Our PE day will be a Monday. Please remember to to wear a PE kit and trainers on this day.
