Safeguarding

Cooks Spinney has a Local Governing Body (LGB) which are actively involved in all aspects of school life. It is the responsibility of the LGB to ensure that all members of our school community are safe and have equality of opportunity in line with the Safeguarding Policy and our Equality and Diversity Policy.

The LGB work with school staff to support school improvement and monitor the impact of projects and initiatives.

The LGBs in BMAT takes seriously their responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our Trust to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.

The designated safeguarding lead is Jo Wilson.
