Year 1 - Beech and Hazel

Welcome to Year 1!

We hope you all had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed for the new year ahead.

This page is designed to provide you with key information about our learning this half term, helping to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for all pupils.

In English, we will continue to build our reading and writing skills through our Read Write Inc. programme, alongside English lessons focusing on Poetry pack, Animal themed.

In Mathematics, our focus will be on Geometry, Place value within 10, addition and subtraction and shape, developing both understanding and confidence with these key concepts.

In Science, we will be learning about The Human Body.

Our RE topic is How did the world begin? Christian, Jewish, Hindu.

In History our focus is Technology in the home.

In Geography our focus is Maps and map making.

In Computing our focus is Computer systems and networks: Technology around us.

In PSHE, we are learning about living in the wider world and how we can be responsible members of our community.

Both Hazel and Beech class will have PE on a Monday so please ensure children come to school in appropriate kit on that day.
