Hello and Welcome to Nursery!

Autumn 1

We are very excited to welcome all of our new Little Acorns to our class this September, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead!

As we begin our first half term, our focus will be on getting to know each other and settling in. Our first topic of the year will be “Happy to Be Me”, where we will focus on learning about ourselves, who we are, what we look like, our families, and what makes us special.

Here are some of the things we will be covering over the half term:

Literacy: We will be reading From Head to Toe, You Choose, and What I Like About Me! In phonics, we will be exploring environmental sounds.

Maths: We will be focusing on counting, colours, and comparisons.

Science: We will be learning about our bodies and our senses.

Music: We will be learning our routine songs.

Art: We will be exploring and using different tools and equipment.

PSHE: We will be focusing on settling in, getting to know each other, and learning our new rules and routines.

Computing: We will be exploring everyday technology.

Class Dojo: Please make sure you regularly check your child's ClassDojo for updates about our learning, activities, and what we have been getting up to in Nursery. We will use ClassDojo to share regular updates and other information with you.

Spare Clothes:Please ensure that your child has a bag of spare clothes kept at Nursery. Please ensure all items of clothing are named.

P.E: Nursery do not participate in P.E lessons until the summer term.
