Reception Home Learning
Hello Children and Parents, and welcome to another week of learning about traditional stories!
Goldilocks is going to go into a house in the forest. What will she find there? Watch and find out!
https://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/short-stories/goldilocks-and-the-three-bears
Here are 5 challenges for you to try at home after watching the story-
Challenge 1
The three bears eat hot cereal called 'porridge' for breakfast. What do you usually have for breakfast? Tell us about it!
*You could even help to make your own breakfast eg. Pour the milk for your cereal.
Challenge 2
Collect some bears and soft toys from around your home (if you don’t have any, figures or dolls will do). Can you compare and order them from smallest to largest?
Challenge 3
Should Goldilocks have entered a stranger’s house without asking? Do you think she learnt her lesson at the end? Draw a picture and/or write a note for the bears from Goldilocks to say sorry for what she did.
Challenge 4
Learn the Goldilocks song below and sing it to a family member. This is a great way of retelling the story. You could even add some actions!

Challenge 5
Go for a walk in a wooded area and pretend you are Goldilocks, running from the bears! You could even play hide and seek with your family.
We hope you enjoy the story and song... Feel free to check out some of the other activities that have been published by the British Council on the website. If you are interested, you can also find out some facts about real bears with this Disney nature video
We are aware that Tapestry has had a few technical difficulties and hope that these have now been sorted.
Have a great week everyone!
*Parents please remember that we will be meeting on teams for a drop in session at 9.30am. We will now be available every morning Tuesday to Friday to offer our support and answer any questions that you may have whilst also catching up with the children.
